It's difficult for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The top summits have already been conquered.

We're talking about the team that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, plus another six T20 titles, and once went nearly four years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, the ones sought by the record chasers, are all that remain for a side that has achieved everything.

That it took up to Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase above 300, regaining their record for the biggest in the women's 50-over format, is, in truth, a compliment to the bowling attack that have sported the yellow jersey over the past 50 years.

It is hard for their hitters to hold a record if not provided the chance.

In the end, the consequence of Australia conceding 330 was skipper Alyssa Healy receiving a platform to create her most recent brilliance.

Then best known as the teenage relative of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after Australia didn't secure either of the T20 or ODI World Cups from the prior year and has seen it all through 15 championship-filled years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup arrived three months after her debut and seven international trophies have followed from 10 efforts across formats.

The gritty keeper was also there in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India temporarily stopped the successful run.

That loss "motivated us to reevaluate our levels," Healy said this week.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the championship match and was named player of the tournament. She made sure her country would not come up short.

The question of whether this recent magnificent innings topped that previous effort remains open for discussion.

Many contend the case for final game tension. Some might respond with the test that comes when confronting a historic chase and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's clear is this ton was considerably tougher to see coming.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 happened while she led the batting statistics, but this knock followed six innings in India since the start of last month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"For those following me in training, it's been a frustrating experience because it seemed my form was missing whatsoever," commented Healy.

"Yet the moment you take the field, your competitive nature kick in and you completely engage with the match."

Healy's fighting spirit has consistently been her major advantage - and an invaluable trait in replacing legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, out to the emerging pace bowler in all three matches, but this time it merely gave Healy's motivation.

One run resulted off the opening delivery and from that point the batsman was underway.

"An opportunity to play and lock in a contest with her and simply enjoy myself that way, sort of got me going," commented Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 balls - her swiftest at the World Cup - and her hundred in 84 deliveries while she flogged anything short, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

When she was dismissed the team needed 66 more at a run-a-ball - a manageable total now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Pursuing 330 is unfamiliar ground so I'm pleased we have the belief to do that now," continued Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to do it again but, if we do, we know we can do it."

Those words will be the final thing competing nations at this championship want to hear.

Over the past five days a feeling they will win from any position has become more firm - this triumph following success over Pakistan by 107 runs despite sitting at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a match against traditional opponents England in Indore in ten days, by which point a last-four spot may probably be guaranteed.

It was in the semi-finals they were eliminated from the previous year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a game Healy couldn't play because of damaged tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the first time at a major tournament.

So great is her will, she subsequently stated she regretted not playing despite the injury.

But while she later admitted those injuries have pushed back thoughts of retirement, this World Cup is likely to be her concluding event as leader in one-day cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a global event as leader.

Victory in India would lead her to the peak of her last major obstacle.
